薬師堂は弘安４年（１２８１年）清誉玄斎大徳の開基と伝える。堂内には本尊の薬師如来像をはじめ十二神将像、歴代住職の位牌、祖師像と上田藩主仙石政俊の位牌が祀られている。また境内に十王尊堂がある。境内山腹には天正年中（１５７３〜９１）に創設と伝える「温泉社」があり５基の石祠の１基に七久里玄斎霊神と刻まれている。
この薬師堂は、古来より大湯の出湯をとりまく地元住民の温泉の安穏と薬効をご利益とするお薬師さんへの信仰をもとに薬師講中が護持してきたものである。（看板より）
ここで「秋の薬師堂縁日」のライブが行われていたので、初めてこの場所を訪れました。別所温泉の共同浴場の一つである「大湯」の奥にある場所です。とても静かで自然に囲まれた良い場所でした。
Bessho Onsen "Yakushido Kahi Park"
The Yakushido, built in 1281, contains a Yakushi Nyorai statue, as well as 12 warrior deities, stones commemorating eachi resident priest throughout the temple's history, and the statue of the founder, among many others. The Juosondo Hall also lies within the precincts, as does the Onsensha Shrine, which was built on the mountain from 1573 - 1591.
This "fall festival Yakushido" because it was done live, for the first time I visited this place. Bessho Onsen baths, one of the "Oyu" in the back of the place. A good place surrounded by nature and was very quiet.
